Today is Friday and I am completely spent after my let’s-pack-six-days-of-cleaning-into-four-hours-to-get-ready-for-a-surprise-showing day yesterday. I went to my Nia class (which is awesome, by the way) and that’s about the biggest thing I’ve done all day.
We had the FIRST AND ONLY showing of the house last night and hopefully something positive will come of that. At the very least, we can know that we had a showing. And that should fulfill some deep longing. Craig had a MARVELOUS time in Lansing, but because of confidentiality on the internet- blah,blah- that’s all I will say about that.
I also attended my very last ever ECFE PTA meeting last night. It was super fun (I even did some dishes for the MN Teacher of the year Katy Smith- go Katy!) but it was also super sad. I have been the secretary for two years and so my term was up, but I probably would have jumped in on another position if we would be staying. I just have to say, I love this group of girls. Love them. I will miss them so much. I even teared up a little when Katy presented Jill and I with out parting gifts. (Jill is graduating, too.) This has been a huge part of my life and it will be one of the hardest things to say goodbye to.
On Tuesday, Vienne fell on the bike rack outside of Valencía while Malin was in ballet class. (I have a point, I promise.) As we were sitting in the office, icing Vienne’s shiner, I asked Mandy if she could get a referral to ballet schools in other cities for me. She was so sad to have to do this, but so super helpful. This is another thing that I will miss terribly. I know that there are many more ballet schools around the country, but at no other place on earth has Malin gotten kicked out of pre-ballet, then come back for round two a few years later to advance from Ballet I to Ballet II in three semesters instead of four. Ballet has been so good for Malin and she reminisces about her role in the Nutcracker at least once a week. I have seen her work hard, gain confidence, look up to many great role-models, and make lots of friends.
So in lieu of writing my grocery list, I have written a little more about what I will miss in the community I have here in Winona.
And with that, I can’t wait to see what’s around the corner.
