my name is jenah. i love: food, my kids, cooking, reading, writing. i am: a student of jesus, mom, wife to a pastor, humanitarian. |
We’ve had a crazy couple weeks, well, to say that is a gross understatement. This weekend was jam-packed with meetings and outings and events. Vienne is protesting by taking the worlds soundest nap… Conveniently still sleeping at 10:52 on a Sunday morning. I just don’t have the heart to wake her.
So I am tending to my sorry excuse for a blog. I’ve been blogging for Clutch, a blog for pastor’s wives as their “how-to” expert. (Although the explanation might be a little closer to “I screwed up the first 10 times and please learn from my stupidity” than “expert” but I’ll take what I can get.) But I have really been wanting to blog a little more here.
I have been really stressed out, and not for the past week but something more akin to the last 4 years. I have been struggling to be a nice mom, an attentive wife, engaged pastor’s wife and all around keeper of the home.
Much less write in my blog once a week.
Anyway, I was trying to find some resources online about being a pastor’s wife (and also stalking celebrity pastor’s wife Grace Driscoll) when I came across a video of Mark Driscoll, speaking on what pastor’s wives need. When I watched it, I almost cried. Not because I agreed with every point he had to say, but because he was being a champion for these most often forgotten people. He states in the clip that “The pastor’s wife is the one who pastors the pastor.” But what most people don’t know is that there is really no one to pastor the pastor’s wife. It was nice that he remembered the women behind these men.

Anyway, what do you think of the clip? Let me hear what you think!
