And a sigh of relief.
What a crazy few weeks its been. I am overjoyed to announce that Craig has landed a really great job at The Riv in Holt, MI. (http://rivchurch.com/) It may seem that I am excited about this because Craig finally has a job for real, but I am also super excited because Craig is going to really, really love his new job.
We had a super fun opportunity to be with the staff and their families of The Riv over Memorial Day weekend. It might seem unnerving to spend a weekend at your new boss’ home, but we had so much fun. Their kids welcomed ours in with open arms, and I barely saw them the whole weekend. They were generous and kind. They are going to be great. When you leave a place you’ve lived for a while, you always have thoughts like what if I can’t find any cool friends like the ones I have here? You might not get ones like you have, but you’ll get a whole new slough of new cool friends. This is for sure the case in Holt.
We have already made memories that we will never forget, like how on Sunday there were major power outages due to storms. We were without power for most of Sunday and part of Monday. We spend the next several hours putting food from the fridge into totes of ice and grilling waffles on the grill. It was so much fun.
We are about 95% positive we’ve found a place to live for the next year which will be interesting (apartment living for us!) and I am working on getting the kids enrolled in a new school.
We are excited to see Craig graduate soon in Seattle, and then the wacky summer will start.
Things we are looking forward to:
-Moving all our stuff to Michigan (and getting rid of stuff, too!)
-A trip to visit Doug and Elly in Livingston, Montana
-Lots of road tripping
-Spending some time with MorMor and MorFar
-Swimming
-A few last trips to Bloedow’s, Zesto’s, and Acoustic.
-Meeting new friends (but not looking forward to saying goodbye to old ones!)
